Ute Pass Kiwanis Taste of the Grape

This is the Kiwanis 4th annual wine tasting event. Many different wine varieties from around the area will be available for sampling as well as craft beers from local breweries. There will also be food samples from a number of the area restaurants.

Woodland Park Winter Farmers Market

Come join us at the Woodland Park Winter Farmers Market on the second Saturday of each month October through May, 9am to 1pm, inside at the Ute Pass Cultural Center. Shop for Autumn and Winter harvest items, including fruits and vegetables, jams, eggs, organic meats, breads and pastries, dried beans and homemade salsas. Alpaca knits, holiday wreaths, wood products and skin care items and more, as well as hot food and drinks will be available.

Ute Pass Historical Society History Park Tours

UPHS offers free public tours of History Park the second Saturday of the month from May through September. Tours beginning at 10am. Come explore the museum buildings and learn some of the history of Ute Pass. The historic walking tour of downtown Woodland Park meets at 10:30am. Both tours begin at the Museum Center, 231 E. Henrietta Avenue, just north of the Woodland Park Public Library. The gift shop in the Museum Center building will also be open from 10am-3pm.

2014 Midland Days Symposium -
          "Tunnels in Time"

The 5th Annual Midland Days Symposium will feature the theme, "Tunnels in Time" - a retrospective of the 18 tunnels cut along the routes of the Colorado Midland Railway, running from Colorado Springs to Grand Junction, and the Midland Terminal Railroad, running from Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek. Major presenters include local railroad historian and author, Edward M. "Mel" McFarland, and historians Art Crawford and Tom VanWormer. Dave Martinek, co-founder of Midland Days at Divide, Inc. will moderate and also present. The symposium will take place at the historic John Wesley Ranch lodge south of Divide. Midland Days is a fund-raiser supporting Midland Days at Divide, Inc., and future symposiums and the Midland Depot at Divide Preservation Project. The Divide Chamber of Commerce and the Teller Historic and Environmental Coalition are co-sponsors of the annual event.

Tax Protest & Appeals Process during "Intervening" years Class

2014 is an “intervening” year, the even-year between revaluation years.  Most property owners will not receive a Notice of Valuation, but owners of real property may still protest.  If you have questions or concerns, please join Betty Clark-Wine, the Teller County Assessor, for a discussion about the protest & appeal process, how properties were valued, and your rights as a property owner.  She will also discuss data collection, sales confirmation, and the abatement process.  Don’t miss this opportunity to ask questions, especially if you think you have been overvalued.

30th Annual No Name Fishing Tournament
We have great prizes of 1st through 17th place awarded & approximately 50 door prizes given away at the awards ceremony:

 Three species of fish will qualify for this tournament. They are trout (any sub-species), Northern Pike and Salmon. First place will be for the largest trout (lbs) $500, 2nd place for the largest Northern pike (lbs.) $500, and 3rd place for the largest Kokanee salmon (lbs.) $500, 4th place Cannon Elec. Downrigger, 5th place Jiffy Power Auger, and so on with the 17th place award. Fourth place on down to 17th place will be for the next largest fish of any of the three species (lbs.), and a $100 Junior Prize (for 16yrs & under)!

 We will also donate 10% of the tournament proceeds to The Lake George Volunteer fire Department.

Entry is $45.00 per participant with a 300 entry maximum. - A FREE embroidered No Name Tournament hat comes with each paid entry.
This tournament was established to have fun and meet new friends!

History Tour of Poverty Gulch

Sponsored by the Southern Teller County Focus Group. A hiking tour of the surface remnants of the Gold King Mine and several structures relocated to the gulch in 2013, in the valley where Bob Womack discovered gold in 1890.

Cost $10 to benefit the Focus Group. Meet at the Museum no later than 9:15, shuttle to the trail head. Group will hike downhill to the historic sites. Talks by miners Gary Horton and Jeff Campbell.
